🍁My uncle Petras is a fisherman, mushroom picker, and a walking encyclopedia of the natural world. All the stray cats in his yard are counted, fed, and petted. The pigeons and ducks in the pond are under his watchful eye.
In the autumn, we go to the forest almost ceremoniously to pick mushrooms. After getting tired, we sit on a stump somewhere in the middle of the dense forest, devouring sandwiches and sipping hot instant coffee from a thermos, and chatting.
Recently, my uncle celebrated his 75th birthday, and I drew him this ceramic panel as a gift, depicting his portrait in its natural habitat. The panel was created using the underglaze painting technique.
